Bill, It is because your rounding rules aren't quite the same as the ones the software employs, so for example the software has 16.5 x 8.57 as 141.40, not 141.41, and corrects the rate to get your desired result of 141.41. Neither rule is right nor wrong. The easiest fix is to not include the amo...

Bill, Could you please give us a specific example of a number of hours and a rate that exhibit this problem, please? We've made some changes to the way imports work and we'll see if we can see what is happening.

We've also seen suggestions on the internet that with some servers an incorrect password can cause this message because the server makes an inappropriate (unexpected) response to incorrect password.

It is hard for us to guess what is going on. Googling that error message we found someone else who got the same error using the same Microsoft libraries that we use for sending mail... Their solution follows:  I had the server, port, username and password...turns out that the username a...

Hello, Check your holiday year start date on the Advanced tab of the payroll form. This should be the date when your holiday year starts (ie the date on which the B/F hours are being brought forward).

Yes Pete, the software knows the rules and will automatically switch the employee to NI Table C (employer contributions only) on the date that they reach pensionable age.

I'm sorry about your difficulty, and thank you for your renewal. Renewal doesn't "lose data". Hundreds of sites a month renew without any incident. So probably the renewal and the loss of your data are a coincidence. We've no idea from the information supplied why you can't find your data any mor...

Ok, This is an issue in the latest software release with running the Pxx reports on the employer form with data files originally created more than about 2.5 years ago, we think. We have updated the standard release (currently 1.12.13) to fix this.

Don't worry about the annual pay shown on the employee's main form. This is just 12x the current monthly pay, but has no other significance. However, if you're seeing this month's pay doubled up in the cumulatives on the payslip I wonder if you changed the pay to its new figure *before* advancin...

You define the column headings for uploading hours when defining payment codes. THe column heading for importing hours is the payment code with ":Hours". Like the example above in our earlier response, "BASIC:Hours" is the column heading for hours using the BASIC code. BASIC is one of the codes t...

Yes, PF, the system will easily handle hundreds of employees and indeed you can import the hours worked. You'll need a bureau licence, as you've observed. Here is the relevant section from the help file...   You (Premium licences only) can also paste information from Excel into this tab (or...

I'll quash my curiosity about why anyone would care about having a bonus on a separate payslip (unless perhaps they want to conceal it from someone...) I can think of a way of doing this, but it will only work if they: have a cumulative tax code are normally paid monthly and (being d...

You don't have to do anything, just pay the employee using the software and any employee's NI that the employee owes will automatically show on the payslip. Employer's NI is nothing to do with the employee and should not be deducted from their pay.
