Hi

I have just done my first employee P45 and think I have gone wrong, what's worse is I have filed it online and printed it off. Her last pay was still showing and when I forwarded it on in order to print off the P45, it has included this too. It has printed off a payslip for £67.80 and included this in my pay summary too, but the employeee has not earned anything since the last payroll.

Ok, So is it the case that you want to remove the final payment, then print a replacement P45 and refile?

Have you given the old P45 to the employee yet? If so can you get it back from them?

Hi

No I haven't given it to the employee yet, it is still here. Yes it would be great if I could re-do the P45 and re-file it but I have even received an email confirmation from HMRC so isn't it too late?

  1. To remove the final payment click "Rewind" on the PAYE tab for the employee.
  2. To remove 12Pay's belief that you've filed the P45 go to the Personal tab on the employee and click on the HMRC leaver ID there, with the Alt and Shift keys on the keyboard held down. The ID should disappear
  3. To refile and get a fresh paper P45 click the P45 button next to the employee leaving date with the Shift key on the keyboard held down.

In our experience when HMRC receives a new P45 by internet for the same employee leaving on the same date they'll just disregard the previous one.

That's great, many thanks. It all worked out fine and I printed and filed online a new copy.
