Hi there:

I've used 12Pay to submit a P45 for an employee and now need to print a copy for the employee. I've spoken to HMRC online services who are of the opinion that submission such as this through third party software cannot be printed from the online services gateway. Is this correct as it seems that I will require special stationary (and possible printer) to print a P45 submitted through 12Pay?

Prem, Just go to the employee and click the P45 button next to their leaving date... You won't need any stationery if you used 12Pay to file Part 1 online.

Hi:

Thanks for that, I did try that already and it only had part of the info (i.e no boxes around the text) but I've just tried again and it seems to be fine. So thanks again I guess.

Prem, We're only allowed by HMRC to print the P45s that don't require stationery if you file online first. That's why you didn't get the background text when you tried printing the P45 before filing.

Hi.

Do we only get once chance to print a P45? I am doing a few and I acidentally left the PDF open for the person I printed before and very stupdily closed the one I wanted to print. Without realising I printed two copies of the same person and then clicked yes it printed ok but when I try to print the one I wanted I get a very nice message telling me I have allready printed the P45.

Sadly it gets worse - I then shredded the second copy of the person I printed twice - or so I thought but the desk gremlins made me shred the wrong one.

Out of three people I now have one with two P45's and two without!

Thanks

I do apologise, I've only just noticed this unanswered question.

You can reprint a P45 by holding the "Shift" key on the keyboard down when you request the P45. (The key that you use to get capital letters and special characters on number keys).
