Hi,  I registered my copy of 12pay so that i could create a custom payslip. It was fairly simple for me to complete 95% of the payslip as it was just moving the positions of the elements.  My question -  Is it possible to access other data in the XML that is not included in the examples?  I'm really looking to pull through the email address and the tag1 > tag4 fields from the employee record.

I tried using <Item ElementType="Email" X="4.7" Y="6.3" Width="1" Alignment="Left"/> but this resulted in an error.

Any help would be greatly appreiated.

Kind Regards
Jon

Congratulations for doing so well Jon, considering that we don't offer any significant online assistance in the creation of the custom.xml payslip file. Presumably you used the RS ones as a template.

Our current software release doesn't have the additional fields you mention, but including them is a great idea so we'll add them to our next release which is just going into final production tomorrow, so these should be able to sneak in under the wire as they'll be pretty easy and don't affect our IR PAYE/NI/SxP "numbers" testing.

The other thing we'll add to the next release is our xsd file for the custom payslip xml, which will make composition much easier if you've got an xsd aware xml editor like the one in visual studio for example.

Great.  Thanks very much for the prompt reply.  I look forward to working with the new fields in my xml editor (notepad).

Thanks

Jon

Our current download (V1.4.2) now supports this feature. Just Download Free Payroll Software and install it to get the upgrade and assorted new features of that version.

Great stuff.  Thanks very much for providing this feature and for the quick turnaround.  I can now customise the look and feel of the payslips and include all of the information that was previously hidden.

Many Thanks

Jon

Is there in development a nice looking template for payslips for Z fold Pressure seal payslips?  Or failing that, is there any way of altering the Self Seal payslip?  I can find the templates for Custom and the RS series, just not the Self Seal.  I just need something with simple lines to break up the various sections of the payslip, but have to fit onto the z fold payslips.

Many thanks,

Adam

We don't have anything along these lines at the moment. If anyone wanted to make one a custom.xml that fitted z fold payslips (or to modify one of the RS templates as a starting point) and send it to us we'd gladly add it to future releases. If anyone tries this and is checking the design make sure that you select page scaling of "none" in the Adobe print dialog or you'll produce a file that works for you on that printer but not on any other printer.

I just wish I knew the first thing about xml!!!

The A4 payslip is the perfect starter, but there is no way of amending that one.  Just in case someone does know how, the employer's address would have to disappear, and everything from the Pay Date to the bank details at the bottom needs to be moved down the page by 40mm.  That would leave enough room for a box to display the company name just above the pay date, but below the first glued bit (total space 20mm).

Just putting it out there *wink wink*

Adam

Adam, You've been a great supporter of 12Pay right from when we first released the product. Send us a couple of hard copies of the z-fold paper along with information about where it can be purchased and we'll  send back a custom.xml (assuming no difficulties). And we'll add it to the dropdown list for future releases.
