Hi All,

I have just taken over running a I run a small payroll for my local church and we have 3 people on the books whom we deduct a fixed amount each month circa £50-80 or 5%. The amount does not vary & the church will match the employees contribution.

I am lost with all the choices of deductions, please can anyone point me in the right direction. I would appreciate a prompt answer if possible.

Thanks

Any of the pension deductions can be used to specify a fixed employee and employer contribution. Just enter the amounts in the appropriate boxes (enter the employee deduction with a negative sign).

But we can't tell you which one to use without knowing the circumstances of the pension. Does it attract tax relief at source? Does it attract NI relief at source? If you examine the definitions of the different pension codes you'll see that they have different tax/ni treatments and that determines which one(s) you can use.
