Hi

Accountant previously sorted payroll using 12pay, has now passed this over payroll duties over to myself. I now have premium 12pay on my PC and have began updating empoyee details: first question - do I need to enter a joining date? Also not sure how to enter commulative taxable pay.

Thanks

Trace

The joining date is only important if the employee started during the current tax year.

If the accountant was previously doing the payroll for you using 12Pay they could pass you their backup of your data. Then you wouldn't need to bother about cumulative taxable pay. Entering the cumulative position when you're starting a new file in the middle of the tax year means that you need P11s from the old software, and you need to enter figures from all the columns which is tedious... much simpler if you can avoid this by getting the file from the accountant.
