Just started using the free software and not finding it easy.

Have set up mothly and four weekly employees but cannot get their holiday payments onto the wage slip.

When you click on employee and then "HR" all functions are unusable.

When you click on monthly or four weekly and then onto "Advanced" holiday functions does not work. Where am I going wrong?

Colin, Sorry you're having difficulties.

The information on the HR tab is for Premium/Bureau users only. And the reports/functions that allow you to accrue holiday hours for workers and holiday days for staff are also for paid licences.

If you want to pay holiday pay just go to the employee's current period tab, and select "Add Payment/Deduction", "Holiday Pay", and enter the hours/rate/pay, or just the amount of pay.

Thank you, it worked. There are no hours listed on the wage slip, it just gives amount. Can I change the layout to incorporate hours?

One employee will not get paid anything in this four weekly period due to an illness, by clicking "week 8" does the system know that the person was not paid and go straight to week 8 or will it throw up a problem?

Colin,

  • Open up the "Payments/Deductions" folder in the navigator
  • Click on the line in the list that appears: "Holiday Pay"
  • Go to the "Advanced" tab of the form
  • Click the checkbox that says, "Hours/Rate/Pay Payslip"

If the unpaid employee doesn't appear on your payslip run and period summary report then you should be able to just move the payroll on to week 8, and they'll still be available for payment then.

Thanks again. Eventually found the navigator and get hours onto holiday line. Progressed to week 8 and it shows the unpaid employee at week 8 earning nothing so far. Brilliant.

Much better response than Quickbooks. All going well on the next 4 week pay period I'll upgrade.
